Press Release Summary = Local home business finding joy in working with local daycare in providing fundraiser for The March of Dime cause.
Press Release Body = I have been working hard to build my business online for the past two years. Since my specialty is natural soy candles, super-scented air-fragrance products and gorgeous home accents, the competition is and has been FIERCE. And that is putting it lightly! Upon start-up, I initially thought I would focus on having just an online presence, but as I slowly learned that this market is saturated with others whom have the same business ideas; it made my start-up and continued business presence tough.
It was not until the end of last year, and much consideration that I decided I would start focusing on a local presence. I am still in the beginning phases of getting this launched but am 100% excited about this decision and opportunity.
The two first things I wanted to do were: 1) Launch a successful home party plan and 2) Launch a candle fundraiser program.
With this in mind and ideas formulating, I started to write a local plan of action. Along with the fact that I also have two teenagers of my own and have been actively involved with both their academic and athletic lives, I know first hand that our community is one that is highly involved with community events and our children's sports and recreation. Also knowing that our local community does not have a lot of support and funding for our kids sporting organizations and recreational events, one of my first thoughts was to contact local organizations to get their interest in raising money for our children's recreation and sporting activities. I had a little bit of a slow start with this due to recent surgery and I had only been able to send out a total of 100 fundraising post cards. To my surprise, I had two responses. This is great!
So, on Tuesday, March 13, 2006 I met with Amanda, the activity director and started my first, rather unique fundraiser with a local Kindercare learning center. The unique thing about this fundraiser is that all proceeds will be donated to The March of Dimes.
To me, this was so touching. The fact that the Center decided to not take any proceeds for themselves, proceeds that could have easily been used towards their supplies and such, but rather give it to such a wonderful Cause was just phenomenal. I also then decided that The Aroma Shoppe would also donate and additional $1.00 per each jar sold towards The March of Dimes as well.
Feeling so wonderful about this initial fundraiser, I have now added an additional goal for The Aroma Shoppe. My third goal is to find and support a noteworthy cause all year long, every year.
I have a lot of work ahead of me with just these three of many goals for The Aroma Shoppe but am really excited and looking forward to the challenges.
